Opening Reception:
Sunday, July 19, 2-4 PM

Kris Chatterson, Linda Day,
Fatima Hoang & Jay Lizo
Curated by Devon Tsuno

FOR FAME AND LOVE is an exhibition exposing the quintessential, yet taboo components of art making: ego and love. Through different approaches -- abstraction, performance, language and music, Kris Chatterson, Linda Day, Fatima Hoang and Jay Lizo create works that embody the authentic search for an unattainable equilibrium in art making.

News and Happenings
Angels Gate Cultural Center works in partnership with Santa Monica's Virginia Avenue Project to host weekend theater workshops at Angels Gate. The Virginia Avenue Project is a free, afterschool program that uses the performing arts in conjunction with long-term, one-on-one mentoring to help kids discover their full potential. Through a sequence of writing and performing programs, kids develop life skills and give voice to their creativity. The Center's partnership with the Virginia Avenue Project represents a part of our after school programming for at-risk youth.

education
Artist-teacher, Gary Paller, has been a resident artist for the Center's Artists-In-Classrooms program at Lankershim Elementary in Los Angeles. He taught foundational drawing to two third grade classes for six-weeks. The students have been creating amazing self-portraits and still life drawings with charcoal, pastel, and pencil on paper. Great job Lankershim students!
