The Angels Gate Cultural Center's Studio Artist Program provides professional artists with work studios as part of an active artist community.

Each artist's work ranges in discipline from Painting and Drawing, to Music, to Documentary filmmaking, to Photography, to Ceramics and much more. Open Studios Day is the day when each artist opens the doors of their studio to the public, showing them what they accomplish throughout their time here.
Schedule of Events:
Building A:
11 am-12 pm: Sound Artists Jasmine Orpilla and Glenn Bach: Creating an interactive improvisational electronically acoustic soundscapes.
1:30-4 pm: Opening Reception for "Reflections of the Harbor: Our stories and memories", which explores the South Bay/Harbor region from topographical, cultural and historical perspectives displayed in four distinct installations.
2 pm & 4 pm- Robert/Scott Dance Company performing Under the Light, a choreographed, original piece that pays tribute to the Point Fermin Lighthouse and its caretaking staff.
The Community Gallery will feature a selection of artwork by students involved in our Artists in Classrooms program during the 2010 school year.
Artists-in-Classrooms is a school residency program offering weekly instruction by professional artist-teachers in collaboration with school teachers in their classrooms. Creativity Hub will feature works on paper, mosaics, and sculptures by students of Angels Gate Continuation High School, Barton Hill Elementary, Hawaiian Ave Elementary, Holy Trinity, Normont Elementary, and the Port of Los Angeles High School.

Performances all day, including:
10:00 am: Opening Ceremony/Announcements
10:05-11:30 am: "Cardiotone" demonstration
12:00-3:00 pm: Interactive Drum Circle, featuring Studio Artists Joe Barille and Jeffrey Scott Brown
3:45-4 pm: Closing Ceremony: Community Meditation and Reflection, led by Community Class Teacher Renee Yazdi
Building E: Printmaking Studio
All day: Demonstrations and workshops for all ages
12-2 pm: Screenprinting demos by Paul Kaloper
Building F:
10-12 pm Autobiography writing demo with Fracaswell Hyman
12:30-1:45 pm: Ceramics workshop with AGCC Studio Artist Delora Bertsch
2:30-4 pm: Free Clay Fun for Families with Michelle Solorino
Outside:
1 - 4 pm (on the hour): Ceramic Raku Firing Demo, by Studio Artist Perry Okimoto
Building G:
All Day: Art workshops for kids
Building H:
11:00-noon: Irish Dance performance
12 pm-1 pm: Mikazuki Jujitsu Demonstration
1 pm-2 pm: Flamenco Demonstration by Mercedes Ibarra
2 pm-3 pm: Bellydancing Demonstration with Alexiis
Building I:
11am-3pm: Studio Artist Kajsa Sojdin presents: "explorative/explosive drawing party/workshop"
