The public is invited to participate in the master planning process for
Angels Gate Cultural Center and Angels Gate Park. Notice of public meetings
and opportunities to comment will be posted on this page, the Home page of
the website, in local newspapers, in distributed flyers, and by email.
The next public workshop for the planning process will be held December 1,
2007 at 10am at Angels Gate Cultural Center Bldg. H, 3601 S. Gaffey St., San
Pedro, CA.

Angels Gate Cultural Center's leadership of the overall park planning is
undertaken in partnership with Councilwoman Janice Hahn, Los Angeles City
Council Distict 15, and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and
Parks, Jon Kirk Mukri, General Manager.
The Cultural Center's leadership of the planning is supported in part by
generous grants from the California Cultural and Historical Endowment, Ralph
M. Parsons Foundation, James Irvine Foundation, Coastal San Pedro
Neighborhood Council, Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council, and by in-kind
services from Alchemy Design + Architecture.
Two public planning workshops took place at the Cultural Center on April
21st, 2007 and June 2, 2007. Transcripts of the public comments gathered at
these workshops are available from the links below. Approximately 110
community members and regional stakeholders attended.
Master planning forums, designed to give stakeholders an oppportunity to
present concepts for the park to the public, took place on August 11,
September 8th and September 29th, 2007. Transcripts from the public forums
are available from the links below. Approximately 140 stakeholders attended
those meetings.

The Cultural Center has established a Steering Committee to review the
process and provide advocacy for the project to the public.
